The 2023 April A to Z Blog Challenge is over and I finished! I hope you had fun reading my thoughts and I doubly hope you shared yours in the comments. As to reflections, this is tough. I have done the challenge several years but it was more than a few years back. Social media has changed. When I started, Twitter was king and I made great group of friends there, many from the 2012 challenge. Now Twitter is a mess, Instagram is owned by Facebook, and there seems to be no best way to share.

I had hoped to find more readers via this year’s challenge as well as some good blogs for me to follow. I found several I think I will continue following and made at least one new writing friend. Because I kept my posts short and had them all done in advance, most of my time was spent reading and commenting on 35-40 other blogs (ones I felt I would enjoy). That took about four hours a day and included my commenting back on my own blog’s commenters. Unfortunately, that meant my fiction writing had to be put on the back burner.

Will I do this again next? I highly doubt it but you never can tell. I may do it on our personal blog next time around and minimize the number of blogs I follow. We shall see.

    1. I started with 40, went down as low as 35, now at 38. Some will get dropped over the next month as I assume some folks will drop mine. Now to divide my time between four blogs & writing my novel.

Our Prime Years – Life in Tennessee
DB McNicol – author | traveler | shutterbug
My Snap Memories – My Life in Photographs
Hopping thru my day – Personal Thoughts, Memories, & Ramblings

    2. I enjoyed your lists, Donna. Taking time to reflect on life’s delights and pleasures is such an uplifting thing, and inspiring others to do it was wonderful.

  1. Wow, you did this post, too? You sure are super fast, Donna. And following 35 – 40 blogs every day is quite a feat. Hope to keep meeting you, Donna. It was fun reading your posts and seeing those lovely b/w pictures.
    Wish you the best!

  2. Congratulations on achieving the A-Z Challenge!!! I thoroughly enjoyed connecting with your blog and look forward to continuing my visits and reading more!

    1. It will be fun to continue the blogs I enjoyed the most (last count was 38) and see where they go. Some will stop blogging, some will change content, some will remain somewhat the same. At least based upon my previous A-Z challenges. Me – I’ll be trying to keep up with 4 blogs (some with similar content, some changing) AND writing on my current mystery book.

  3. You are a busy lady and clearly very well organised. I have enjoyed reading your A to Z posts and finding much with which to agree. Congratulations!

  4. I can only echo the other commenters, many of whom have become familiar names to me this year – 35-40 blogs a day – no wonder it took four hours!!! Well I too enjoyed your lists and they made me think and be grateful for so much in life. I have enjoyed getting to know you and I do hope that you will participate next year in some form – meanwhile – see you on the road Donna…

    1. Thanks – and I’m already trying to NOT think about next year (yet). Got 3 books to get written between now and Sept. LOL! Then it’s on to a European vacation for 2 months.

      1. Three books! I’ll have a bottle of whatever you are drinking Donna…

        1. LOL! All are shorter novella length and cozy mysteries. Much easier than my police procedurals.
