A to Z of Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories
Magical Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories…
- Movies: Big screen or small, movies can transport you, thrill you, make you cry, make you laugh, and more. I love movies and have a case with over 300 DVDs to watch when I’m old and can’t afford streaming.
- Movie theater popcorn: Oh my, that smell. Even if you’re not hungry, it’s irresistible!
- Mountains: They have called to me all my life but the only ones I’d seen were in the east until we moved to Colorado. The Rockies are so majestic, there is no other word. If I had to choose between mountains or beach, mountains would win every time.
- Montana: There is just something about it. I’ve been there several times, both by motorcycle and by RV. If I won the lottery, I’d buy a small cabin where I could see the mountains.
- Music: No matter my mood, there is music to suit. I have a playlist of what I like to hear while writing. I have another for walking, and another for sleep. I can’t imagine a world with no music.
- Motorcycles: I learned to ride when I was 55. My late husband convinced me to learn while he was undergoing his radiation treatments for cancer. I rode over 100k miles over ten years and I miss it terribly. I rode solo through 42 states and over 27k miles during the year after I was widowed at age 58.
- Moose: Here, moosie, moosie, moosie! As much as we traveled (solo & together), we both wanted to see a moose and this became our mantra while traveling in the NW.

Hmmm, I need to try those.
I have a friend who always says, “Show me the magic” when she head out on a hike.

I like that!
Montana’s one of the few states I haven’t been to. I always wanted to go…
There’s just something about it – 3 months of the year. I couldn’t do winters. But it is beautiful. Glacier National Park is a must if you ever get there.
Can’t hear the word Montana without thinking of Frank Zappa “I may be moving to Montana…”
Nice list, Donna. Of course I am right there with the music and the magic.
Mountain cabin with a mountain lake…ahhhh.
And Me, Michelle. 😁
Sigh…I know!
Music! I can’t do without it, esp on my walks, when i want to be transported to another world. No mountains for me, though, I prefer beaches. And, M for Ma, my best friend and my hero. M for Meditation, too, which I need to stay centred.
Good additions! Thanks…
Another great list, Donna. I’d include mythology and mysteries on my list.
Nice additions!
Got to have some music in your life 😉
I need to turn on my writing playlist today and get some words down.
Mountains and Music for sure! Or the two conflated into a Movie as in the opening and ending of The Sound of Music…
Ah, yes….
Mountains are indeed magical!
Technically we live on Cumberland Mountain but it’s so old and worn down it’s now referred to as Cumberland Plateau.
Mountains and Moose. I use to live in the NE, so my Mountains of choice were in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Took a moose tour there with my husband and we saw a few but they were far away. On the way back to our hotel we almost ran into a moose right in fron of Mount Washington.
Wow! The only moose I’ve seen were in the NW and I grew up in New England. Nice!!
