A to Z of Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories
Notable Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories…
- Newborn: Not just babies, but all animals.
- New friends: Ones that feel like old friends and are here to stay.
- Neighbors: I love our neighbors. They don’t bother us, keep to themselves, but call for help and they are there in a heartbeat.
- Notebooks: I’ve always had too many. I love them and have had to ban myself from the stationary department in stores (and online). This year I donated most of my unused ones to foster kids getting ready for school.
- New England: This is where I grew up in the 50s. So many good memories, such a beautiful part of the US.
- NOT having to dress for work: I spent many years in suits, heels, and nylons. I treasure the fact I can dress in what looks okay but more importantly, is comfortable. As a side note, I recently took part in the Wool& 100 Day Dress Challenge. I wore their hooded tunic (dress length on this shorty) every day for 100 days. Yes, it got washed. Yes, it was comfortable. Yes, I still love it. You can see all my photos here.
What are your notable small delights, simple pleasures and significant memories?

Hi there,
Coming here from another blogger participating in A to Z challenge. I am also a fellow participant. I loved your N post.
Thanks so much for stopping by and dropping a comment!
Definite yes to notebooks (never enough) and not having to dress for work!
You know it! I have pretty much replaced notebooks with apps on my iPad with the Apple pencil (Notability – on all my Apple devices) and more recently Nebo (does a great job of transcribing handwriting into text).
I’m off to find Nebo.
I’ve really been impressed with it’s capabilities to transcribe my old hen scrawls!
My Sister from another Mister! This is my favorite post so far. Thanks for the idea of what to do with some of my many notebooks. (Psst, when shopping with my children, they don’t let me anywhere near a bookstore. So sad!)

The 100 Day dress challenge sounds intriguing!!! I once dressed identically to a colleague (intentionally) for a whole semester. There is something to be said for not having to worry about what to wear
Truly there is – since I’m doing the 30 day challenge right now, the most I think about is long-sleeve or short-sleeve tee with my dress. LOL!
Notebooks (the kind I used in school back in my day) is one of my N topics for today.
I miss buying them, but have really converted most notes to my iPad. I did use a Rocketbook for a while but even that has fallen into disuse with the apps on the iPad that use the pencil.
Noise… I find as I get older the less I can tolerate loud noise.
Now don’t misunderstand me, I enjoy hearing children/teenagers laughing and playing, it’s more loud music or loud talking in restaurants and public settings that has started to annoy me.
I think some of it is due to not being able to block it out, and also due to not hearing others as well when there is loud noise around me.
I guess I’m just becoming a grumpy old woman 🤪😜
I have trouble with a cacophony of sounds/voices and completely understand.
