A to Z of Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories

Superb Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories…

  • Sunsets: I’ve taken so many beautiful sunset photos. Arizona seems to be tops as are cruises.
  • Sports cars: I’ve always loved them and owned a couple. Now, if I got in, I could never get out.
  • Solo motorcycle rides: I learned to ride with my husband, my two brothers and their wives. After I took my solo motorcycle trips around the country, I hated to ride in groups. Solo riding is totally different, lost with your thoughts.
  • Starry summer nights: A warm summer night, sitting in the yard watching the clouds roll past the stars.
  • Sunflowers: So pretty and cheerful
  • Smush-faced cats & dogs: Oh my, YES!
  • Smiles: A smile lights up a face, no matter the age. We don’t smile often enough.
  • Shopping by myself: Especially when there are sales! I’ve never been one to enjoy shopping with others. I like to go at my own pace.
  • Saltines: Saltine crackers with PB & J – I love to squish them and lick the sides before eating. The salt really adds something.

    1. Only if I don’t have to go out in it. When my late husband and I lived in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest, new snow on all the evergreens was stunning.

  1. I preferred my saltines with just the J, no PB. I probably have just as many sunsets as you but mine are from the west coast of Florida. And, of course, sunflowers – part of my blog logo.

    1. I lived on the east coast of the US most of my life and always oriented myself by the ocean. Then I moved to St Petersburg – EEEK! I was lost.

  2. Absolutely sunsets, particularly over the beach. I like solo road trips but in a car not on a motorcycle. Smiles, absolutely and shopping in a craft store by myself is heaven.

    1. Now any solo trip would be by car – in fact, I have a short one in June when I go to a writer’s conference in Wisconsin.

  3. Smiles do it for me. And anything that Sparkles – Diamonds, Champagne, Diet Coke, the Sun bouncing off the lake on which we live.

  4. We spent 6 months of lockdown in Crete facing east over the sea so it was sunrises that we kept seeing – beautiful…

  5. I love sunsets but not as much as stormy nights. I’ll take pictures of sunsets but I’ll take video snippets of storms to try to catch the murmur of thunder and flashes of lightning on the dark clouds.

    1. I’ve never done that – maybe something for the future before I retire my Panasonic Lumix in favor of my iPhone.

  6. What a great list! I agree that it’s important to take time to enjoy the moments, big or small. My dog is very good at that and teaches it to me every day!

  7. Yes, shopping alone. I take my time and touch everything. Bookstores, hobby stores, and home stores are my favorites!

    1. I don’t have the stamina to enjoy it like I used to. I’m very thankful for Amazon’s generous return policy. LOL!
