Today’s random prompt is “Write about the weirdest person you know”.
“You’re weird,” she taunted the small boy in front of her.
“No I’m not,” he countered as he adjusted the big sombrero, trying for a jaunty look.
“Not like that. Like this!” She snatched the it from his head and tossed it to the ground. “Much better,” she laughed.
He picked up the oversized hat, knocked some dirt off, and putting it back on. “I’m gonna tell. Leave me alone.”
She put her hands on her hips and pursed her lips. “Who you gonna tell? No one cares about you.” She reached for his hat again and he knocked her arm away.
“I gots a big brother. He cares ’bout me. Leave me alone.” He stomped away.
“Well, you’re the weirdest kid I’ve ever met,” she shouted after him. Frustrated that he didn’t respond, she sat in the dirt and drew pictures with her fingers.
She was soon joined by another boy. He stood in front of her for a minute before scuffing out the picture she was drawing. “You’re weird,” he snarled.
