Great book, a great read.”

Hey Donna,
I just read your post on counting and it felt good to know there are people around like me! I too count the numbers on the microwave when heating something. I love to see the numbers changing from 10 to 1. I too count steps while climbing or descending just so I am prepared…I mean, what if there’s a blackout and I have to rush out of my house and climb down the stairs!? I will know when I reach the ground floor. 🙂
We are creatures of strange habits, but now, with age, I feel these strange habits make us unique. Right?
Hubby counts steps/stairs as a retired firefighter so it’s a good habit to have. It sounds like a lot of us countdown the microwave (and coffee machine & ice maker dispenser). I love hearing that others do this as well. And yes, we are unique!
I’ve always counted.
The number of steps from one point to another, certain colours of cars, Magpies (1 for sorrow, 2 for joy etc) and always wondered what to do if there’s more magpies than numbers to the rhyme. Do you just start over from 1, or should you make up more parts to the rhyme?
I’ll even count along with the timer in the stove at microwave too.
Glad to know I’m not crazy 😜
I do countdowns with the microwave, too, as well as the ads in the games I play on my iPad. LOL!
I count quite a lot, too. I count the number of times a character knocks on a door in a film, I always count magpies, I count the fish in the pond to see if the heron’s taken any and I often have counting rhymes running through my head.
I love hearing about others counting. Hubby counts steps – retired firefighter habit.
No counting for me, but I do recheck my locks on doors at bedtime more than once. lol
Ah, that’s one I tend to be lax about. Rural life with two loud dogs. LOL!
