It’s where we write, be it a desk, a coffee shop, the library, or even just sitting on your sofa or favorite chair with your laptop perched on your lap. We all have that place. Mine is definitely on my loveseat recliner with a lap desk (I have one in the house and one in the RV) big enough for my mouse. My coffee beside me, I’m good to go. But in the past, I also have enjoyed going to a local diner/eatery/coffee shop and writing there.

The downside of writing this way is the daily interruptions. Dishes, laundry, vacuuming, and the never-ending chore of letting the dogs in-letting the dogs out. Now that we live more rurally, it’s 30+ minutes to a McDonald’s (my former place to perch) or anything close to a spot I could write.

So when I saw an ad for these sheds on Amazon. I was intrigued and had to look at some of the options. Click any photo to read more about each one on Amazon.

Some are small. Some have lots of windows. Some have porches. Some even have wheels for that gypsy wagon charm. For me, my preferences are porches and windows. If I had to choose I’d pick either the tiny Allwood Escape (but add another window) or the Allwood Summersby. Too many windows would mean buying lots of window coverings to help fight the sun streaming in and blinding me. Now if money were no issue, it’d be the Allwood Dreamcatcher – a nice porch and enough windows.

Which one would you pick?

  1. Allwood Claudia. I love the windows and it is so cute. I would make it my music room. I would order it empty inside except include a bath.

  2. Very cute. I love the idea of she sheds. I used to write on my screened in back porch in Atlanta. Felt like I was out in the woods. The guy who wrote Doc Hollywood lived in the same neighborhood as me and he actually built a little tree house in the woods behind his home. I thought it was so funny. He had a He shed.

    1. We hope to eventually screen in part of our back deck but it may be a while. How interesting about that guy!!

  3. I actually have one. I call it my Studio and I have all my scrapbooking and crafting supplies in it. I love it. It is not as elaborate as any of these but does have two windows and we are going to work on the landscaping when it gets better weather (and we have more money – LOL).

  4. I use our screened porch for my crafts. Since we’re in Florida is usable most of the time. I can look across to a large pasture with cows, sometimes horses. Wild turkeys wander through our yard, along with sandhill cranes.

    1. That sounds like a perfect screened porch. My brother and his wife had a great back screened porch in FL and we’d sit out there and chat until midnight.
