One side of my bookshelf

Before I sold everything and took off full-time RVing, I had three bookshelves full of books. Most were paperbacks (I love to read) unless they were reference books, many of those were hardcover. I sold a lot of the paperbacks and all the rest were donated to my local library.

There was next to no space for books in my motorhome and once I got together with my hubby, weight was still a factor so I didn’t buy many. Again, most were reference books or small “fun” books.

With the introduction of digital books, I now almost never buy physical books unless they are reference. You can see my current collection in the photo above. Here is the other side of the shelf, this is where I store a couple of books I have written, ready to sign and gift someone.

The other side of my bookshelf

Do you collect books? What are your favorites? Do you gift books? What’s your preference – hard cover, paperback, or digital?

  1. I’ve gone all e-books now. I have about 10 hardbacks that are precious to me and a few paperbacks, a few cookbooks, but I have about 3500 e-books and most of them were snagged while being offered for free.
I was reading between 5-10 books a week, but both of my Kindles turned into bricks! I have the Kindle app on my computer, but no laptop, so i’m stuck in front of the desk reading on my monitor, which cuts down on my ability to read on the go. My phone was too old to let the mobile app work, but my son just this past week got a Verizon business account that he added me to and it came with a lovely new phone! A Goggle Pixel 3AXL, and the only app I’ve added so far is the Kindle! I guess that shows where my priorities are LOL

    1. Nice you got a good phone now…we no longer have desktops (oops, Stu has one because he will need something in the hobby barn). Love my laptop but I’d be lost without my Kindle reader for books.

    1. I started with the ebooks after a cruise where I ran out of things to read (I read fast) and have never looked back. LOL!

  2. The only books I actually have in our RV are my Bibles and study guides, and signed books by my favorite author friend…. you, Donna!! Lol… all the rest are on my kindle, and that’s Donna’s fault too… hehehe… it took quite a bit for me to give up the so familiar and loved feel, and sometimes smell, of a book in my hands.
