It’s been a hectic last few months – our two month European vacation, four books written and published, and learning about my daughter’s breast cancer. It’s time for a break. I’m a bit burned out and the words just aren’t coming as easily. As my husband always tells me, when it stops being fun, it’s time to stop. So stop it is – at least for a couple of months.

We are getting home from our latest vacation next week, and I get to see my pups, one of whom had surgery just before we left. Then catch up on all the little things (like restocking food and doing laundry). Um, April approaches, so I have to get our tax information ready for our accountant. Then I fly to Colorado the end of February to be with my daughter during her double mastectomy and that will take an emotional toll on me. Hubby is facing shoulder surgery on at least one shoulder, more emotions. Both will also take a slight physical toll on me as well.

Yes, it’s time for a break. At least for a couple of months. I will still send out my newsletter, sharing books and promotions for you to enjoy. I may jot down some ideas for the next books to write. I have two open series I’d like to finish. I have one series where I already have a cover for a fifth book (it might end up as a short story). And I have covers for several other series. But if I can’t get my writing mojo back, who knows. Please bear with me…

  1. Your body and creative mind is on overload! Take a break and deal with your daughter, Stu, and yourself!

  2. You need to take a breather; I’m glad you recognize this & are willing to take a step back. You will likely continue to be on overload with the stress of caring for both Stu & your daughter. Sometimes we need to remember that we are NOT Super-Woman, taking on any- & everything that comes our way. Family is the most important, but be sure to take care of yourself in the process. Thinking of you…

  3. You have a lot going on that is understandably stressful. Writing is not like a job where you can go through all the familiar motions, it takes active thinking. Take a break, read some fun books. You are not a robot
