I posted my reflections yesterday and it turns out I was a bit quick. The official questions suggestions popped up in my blog reader today, and I thought I should tackle some of them as well. So here goes…

  1. Do you feel the A to Z Team (Arlee Bird, J Lenni Dorner, Zalka Csenge Virág, John Holton, Jayden R Vincente, and Ronel) supported you, your blog, and this challenge enough in 2024?
I remember seeing visits and comments from Arlee, J Lenni Dorner, and John Holton. I well remember them from previous years and followed their blogs (and commented when I could). I think they did a great job and I don’t envy them! HUGE kudos and thanks to them!!

~ Changes: I missed or never could find the calendar that used to be posted. I found it a quick way to easily check what dates to use. I know one A-Zer who started like a week early!
~ Graphics: The only graphic I used was the main one in my side bar. Otherwise, I made my own (as I have done in previous years).
~ Monthly Posts: I thought I was following the main A-Z blog but I don’t remember seeing anything until March, thus I made a last minute decision to join. Again. LOL! I’ll be keeping it in my blog reader list for sure! As to suggestions, Maybe pick some of the bigger/popular themes and list/feature some of the participants?
~ Social Media: I follow the FB page but thanks to the awful algorithms, I never see any of the posts. Sigh…

  2. What was your favorite comment left by another A to Z participant on your blog during the challenge?
It’s hard to pick one – sorry!
  3. Did any other A to Z participant make you and your blog feel especially valued this year?
Do you have a favorite blog that you found during the challenge this year?
These two questions go hand in hand. I already had a few A-Z & FB friends that I met from previous challenges and we supported each other quite well, so this answer will apply to new friends. (apologies to those who I forgot or missed)
~ Adventures in…Word Play: I met the author, Mari, at a writers conference last year and we became FB friends. She decided to try the A-Z after reading my intentions and while her posts were a bit unorthodox, she created an amazing serial story that she plans (for neo) to continue. Highly recommend!!
~ Mind Over Matter: Arpita was always a fun read and this was her first A-Z as well.
~ Draconic Ramblings: Cristyn created an amazing serialized story that I hope to puts to publication. It was so much fun to follow.
~ cindyricksgers: Cindy did an amazing job writing about nothing. Every post was fun to read and I enjoyed them all.
~ hdhstory.net ~ Harvey is a consummate storyteller and his play on words/names was a treat. A not-to-be missed writer!
  4. Any other thoughts, feelings, and reactions to the #AtoZChallenge 2024?
I enjoyed doing it this year, putting aside all other writing other than our personal blog (we’re rebuilding our deck). I followed a lot of blogs regularly, visited some sporadically, commented when I had something to say, and often clicked LIKE on the WordPress hosted blogs (wishing Blogger had something like that). I loved with my commenters included a link to their blog, whether they were A-Zers or not. Just found a new A-Zer from a recent comment!

I plan to go back to the Master List to see if there are others I missed that I need to visit during May. Some themes don’t interest me at all, so I do love them being categorized that way. All in all – great year!

  5. Will you consider doing the challenge again next year?
I’ll be 77 this year and am winding down my professional writing. If I do it again, it will most probably be on my personal blog.

  1. This were some good reflections. I never made it to your blog during the A-Z proper, I hope to return, but with summer and birthday season ahead, I do not promise anything.

Re 4: Blogger actually do have a ‘like’ options. I had it activated fior a long time, but no-one ever used it 😉

    1. Thanks so much, yours is one I still need to view. Thanks for the comment! Oh, and thinking maybe the LIKE is on foreign sites? I did a quick view, did a search, and no LIKE option showed up (unless it’s called something else). Again, the visit and comment are appreciated!

  2. Thank you so much for this information! I won’t take much of any credit for this year’s A to Z. The rest of the team really carried it all and I think they did such a great job. We appreciate your participation in the Challenge.

  3. Thanks for the endorsement of my blog. As I said your previous reflection, I thought you did a great job and I might try it next year for my challenge with some adaptations. btw one correction on this reflection. My name is Harvey, not Herb.

  4. Congratulations once again! Your ending was totally unexpected. When I post my Reflections (May 7) I am not going to tackle most of their questions – I could have wished they did a questionnaire instead, like in previous years. But it was interesting reading your observations. I hear you about cutting back on blogging. Life really is too short. I hope your deck rebuild goes smoothly. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. A questionnaire would have been better for me, too. Then I wouldn’t have needed to do two posts. LOL! Thanks, Alana. I’ll be following you!
