My contribution to this week’s Sunday Photo Fiction challenge.
She stared at the flowers she’d brought home from her art class. They were so colorful, so cheerful, so pretty. She lightly touched the petals, enjoying the silky softness.
They’re so perfect, they could be artificial.
But they’re so alive…
So unlike me…
She leaned back and closed her eyes. Today had been difficult, her final art class. Her students didn’t know. But they would be fine. A new teacher would greet them and their lives would continue without interruption.
Hers would not.
She hoped they would put flowers just like these on her casket.
So pretty, so perfect, so alive.
Thank you.
So sad..
Make those last days count! Always harder I think when you know the expiration date…
That’s not much to ask. Hopefully her wish will come true.
There is almost always a second to let your last moment count.. whether it’s saying goodbye to your friends or your family members, or saying hello to Jesus, and your family and friends you haven’t seen in so long. When you know your time is almost gone, make that last text, email, or phone call. If you have been sick and you didn’t tell your loved ones, make sure to take that time right now. They have earned the right to know, and the right to say goodbye.
Sad story. Nice take on the prompt.
Poignant 🙁
You did a great job with this prompt. Very sad.
Sad Donna, but a cheerful thought for the occasion.
