Hubby was going to be gone for a week+ and I was going to be able to write without distraction. Right? Sigh. I wish it had happened that way. Day one – occular migraine followed by headache. Day two – eyes so dry I can’t do much of anything. Day three – Cooper got out of our fenced yard. Argh!

So, for the last outing of the night, I put him on a leash. But the best laid plans – our neighbor’s dog barked and Cooper jerked me to the ground where I smashed my left shoulder and hip. Long story short – the dogs were boarded until hubby got home the following week. I spent days (now weeks) icing the shoulder, then heat (after several weeks), taking Aleve, and sleeping in the recliner. It’s been almost two months and I am better but still dealing with the shoulder.

Then, we had planned a two day trip to Dollywood for my 74th birthday. Thanks to COVID (terrible stats here in TN) and the bees that have taken over Dollywood, we cancelled. So my birthday was spent quietly at home, binge-watching TV. LOL!

I’m sorry to say, my writing has gone by the wayside. It’s taken all my energy to just keep up with emails and other daily stuff. So, to reduce stress, I am taking a hiatus until probably the end of the year. I’m making some changes to several things. I am combining my two newsletters into one and moving it all to SendFox from MailerLite. This will save me over $100/year in expense. I hope you will keep reading! (subscribe here)

I am also discontinuing my Cozy Capers website. The readership hasn’t grown much and it takes quite some time to keep it updated. I hate to let it go, but I truly want to get back to fiction writing and this will help.

So, for the rest of the year I’m taking time off. We have a wedding in Maryland for one of our granddaughters and two weeks of cruising. I may write on the cruise or I may just read. Only time will tell. But in the meantime, I will continue simplifying things and taking time to enjoy life. Ciao!
