While I wait for the edits to come back on Ventis & Victims, I’m working on some starter notes for my Halloween-themed story for next year. If you remember, a while back I shared a cover reveal with you. Then the members of my Facebook reader group (come join us at the Hoot Troop) helped me choose the name, A Deadly Happening.
Oh, you don’t remember? Did forget to share the full cover? Doesn’t matter. Here’s the cover and a few basic notes about the characters and the story line. Don’t you just love the vibe?
I only have a couple of characters defined. The main character is Alivia Sue Harper (nicknamed Ash for her initials). She is twenty-one and after finishing community college, she has decided to open her own company, and event planning business. She lives in Harpertown, founded by her ancestors in the 1800s.
Her best friend since kindergarten is Kaley Ann Tiption (nicknamed Kat for her initials). Kaley asks Alivia to plan her 21st birthday blowout bash.
Everything is going along swimmingly until a dead body is found just as the party starts.
I have no idea who dies, who kills them, or why. Since I am a pantser (I write by the seat of my pants), most of my stories start this way. Should be interesting!
My plan (hope) is to have this done by the end of our January cruise so I can move on to writing my three Snowflake Falls books. Since this is probably a short story, if I’m really diligent, I should be able to finish it before the cruise and start An Elfing-Gift on the cruise!
Thank you.
I am so looking forward to both “Ventis & Victims” and “A Deadly Happening!”
Thanks, it’s getting closer to Ventis & Victims time, a couple more edit run-throughs!
