Here is my contribution to this week’s Sunday Photo Fiction:

“Are you kidding me?” I slammed on the brakes and looked at my kid brother.

“No, why would I kid you? I’m completely serious. I’m going to do it.”

I snorted. “And who is going to finance this boondoggle? You don’t have any money.” I glared at him. “And don’t even think about asking me.”

“I have my sources. I’m being well paid to take on this project.” He folded his arms and defiantly stared out the side window. “You never have any faith in me.”

I sighed. “I do have faith in you but it’s hard when you never finish anything you start.”

“Yes, I do.”

“No, you don’t. What about the book you were going to write? And the bakery you were going to start? And then there were all the inventions…” I shook my head, thinking about all the parts sitting in my basement.

“This is different. I can do it. I’ve even got a project book full of ideas.”

“Whatever. Just don’t come crawling to me with your tail between your legs when you quit.”

Nine months later: “Local man deconstructs albatross in neighboring farmer’s field. His creative sculptures are now in galleries across the state.”
