A to Z of Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories

Joyful Small Delights, Simple Pleasures, & Significant Memories…

  • Jewelry that comes with memories: I wear my late husband’s wedding band on my right hand, I had it sized for me. I wear an heart pendant that was made from my wedding set and diamond earrings that was custom made for me. I always feel close to him. I had my mother’s wedding set for years, I recently passed it on to my daughter and she wears it on her right hand. Sweet memories…
  • Jalopies: Old cars, but especially old trucks. Well loved, much driven.
  • Jitterbug: I used to do this, now I love watching others do it.
  • Juke boxes: I grew up in the era of juke boxes and mini ones on the tables in diners. I’ve always loved them.
  • Jamaican accents: Ah, so melodious!
  • Jacket: that favorite one you love, so comfortable, it’s like an old friend
  • Joy on a loved one’s face: No matter what caused it, joy on a loved one’s face is something to treasure.

  1. My uncle who was very high up in the police force used to restore jalopies as his hobby/downtime. I have many fond memories riding around in the ones he had lovingly fixed up.

    1. Hubby is slowly fulfilling his lifelong dream of restoring/rebuilding old vehicles. Got his pole barn built, electric in, concrete done, now waiting to order his big lift.

  2. I wear my Mama’s second wedding set on my right hand. She had never had a solitaire and late in life my Dad bought her one. That is the one I have.

  3. The planet Jupiter brings me great joy. I’ve seen it in telescopes several times now, and it is one of the most magnificent sights I’m ever seen.

  4. Home made guava jelly, especially if made by my mum. She’s gone three years this April but always with me still.

  5. Jukeboxes! They’ve always had a special place in my heart. if my apartment wasn’t already bursting at the seams, I’d seriously consider buying one. Maybe I could get rid of the couch???

    1. I passed all my mom’s jewelry on to my oldest daughter a year or two ago. She was a foster child so nothing from her mother.
