Christmas is just two weeks away, are you ready? Of course, this is assuming you celebrate the holiday – not everyone does. This can be a very stressful season even under the best of circumstances.

We’re as ready as we need to be, at least this year. We bought our house in January 2017 and spent that Christmas there. We had fun opening the totes of saved Christmas items and sorting out what would stay in the house and what would to out with the RV. December 2018 found us on the road, driving to a campground in southern Georgia so decorating was non-existent. This year we are in the house again and had already forgotten what we had for decorations originally AND what we had bought on sale in January 2018.

We live 3 hours to several days away from any family, so we will use Facetime/Skype to chat to family on Christmas day. We will repeat our Thanksgiving feast (giggle), sticking as close to our low carb way of eating as we can.

We do have family and friends who are celebrating their first holiday season without a loved it. That’s always difficult. I’ve been there, done that when I lost my husband of twenty years over Thanksgiving in 2004.

So my wish for you, all my readers and fans, no matter your beliefs, I hope you can enjoy old memories and make new ones!

  1. Great post. Someone wishes me Happy Holidays I wish them Merry Christmas. My Jewish friend, I would say Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. She was OK with that.
