My A to Z Challenge: Micro fiction, using 300 words or less, inspired by selected words along with a photo for inspiration. The words were chosen in reverse order from this lesson plan page.
(For example, for the letter A it was the 26th word on the list, for Z it was the 1st word on the list)

“Your showing was a huge success,” her agent purred with satisfaction.

“I know, but it was expected.” She perused her photographs, the majority sporting sold signs.

“I think you should have a repeat showing in a month.”

“Why wait that long? I want to do it again next weekend.”

Her agent frowned. “You don’t want to saturate the market. I think that’s too soon.”

“Just arrange it.” She waved her hand in dismissal and considered it done.

The second showing went as well as the first.

“I told you we should do it more often. Book me weekly.”

“That wouldn’t be wise,” her agent demurred. “Your audience will decrease with each one.”

“Fine, book it at four different galleries then. Just do it.”

Her agent sighed and pulled out her phone as she walked away.

A stranger walked over and tapped her on the shoulder. “Excuse me, I couldn’t help but overhear. You’re interested in weekly showings of your work?”

She nodded without really seeing him.

“I can arrange that. Even daily ones if you prefer.”

She turned around and studied him. Over six feet tall, long dark hair, piercing eyes and an overall commanding stance. She smiled. “Are you offering to be my agent?”

He nodded, his eyes locked to hers.

She held out her hand and introduced herself. “Cecily Marshall. And you?”

“Baron Kingsley Fischer.”

“Is Baron your first name or title?” she smirked

“Title. Do we have a deal?”

Weeks went by and her showings continued at various venues across the country but she was never present. Her photographs were different, taken from an unusual perspective with a peculiar focus . It was almost as if she were the camera.

Late at night when Fischer put up the camera, no one heard her screams or saw her beating the lens to escape.
