Over the years I’ve lived in many different spots, traveled the country by motorcycle and RV, and even lived in a foreign country for two years. I have collected friends from many backgrounds: former co-workers, childhood school chums, female (& male) motorcyclists, RVers, writers, firefighters, and so much more. But I treasure them all, whether or not they read my books.
Every once in a while, one of these friends surprises me. After the death of my husband, I eventually went to work for a local real estate office. I made several good friends during this time and thanks to Facebook, we’ve been able to keep in touch. This woman is one of those. No longer residing in Tennessee, currently fighting Multiple Sclerosis, she did the most amazing thing. She made me a custom tote bag!
Here’s the video she made to show me.
Who wouldn’t love a friend like this? I’ve already used it as a computer bag for travel and now I can’t wait for an author event to show it off.
Guess what? YOU can order your own tote bag like this with a custom print in place of the books (if preferred – like yarn skeins for a knitting bag). If you’re interested in talking to the wonderful lady who sewed this for me, drop me a note and I will put you in touch. Oh, and she makes wallets, wristlets, cross-body bags, and other purses! All in custom prints of your choice.
Thank you.
Donna you are such an amazing woman and friend! You have always been an inspiration to me. We meet a lot of people as we walk though life. Some of those people leave imprints on our souls. Little things that we as people do or say at the time of our walk with each other, often resonates with us throughout the rest of our time here. Those people through discussions, simple acts of kindness, and even just being themselves can make a profound impact on others. You are one of those people to me. When we met, I was not a very independent person, nor very secure with myself. When you talked to me, it was with confidence and purpose. Your wisdom was enormous and your life full of direction, joy, and kindness. You inspired me to be that confident person. As my disease progresses, It is people like yourself that has kept me driven and reminds me that I too can find my own personal strength, and endurance. Thank you for being a great and wise inspiration to me! …your friend, Kay
Awww, you made me teary! You are an inspiration to me and if I helped you in any way, I’m thankful.
